BHS Seniors
of the Week
Tracy
Walker, is the 18 year old daughter of Sylvia Tamez and the late
Juan Canales. Her hobbies include playing sports, talking on the
phone, texting, spending time with family and friends, shopping and
helping others. Her favorite subjects are Math and English and her
favorite color is purple. She enjoys eating Chinese food. Her
zodiac sign is a Virgo.
When asked who inspired you the most Tracy says, “I have been
inspired by the people around me; my mom, family, friend’s
classmates and teachers. I feel that they have each inspired me
equally so it is hard to pick one. Tracy plans on attending college
at Texas A&M Corpus Christi and majoring in nursing or psychology.
Her most memorable moment is “when our UIL One Act team advanced to
area my freshman year with the play Tartuffe. We worked really hard
by practicing long hours. At times we got on each other’s nerves,
but we never gave up. On competition day after we performed we
watched the other plays, and no matter how good they were we never
got discouraged. We had faith in ourselves. Advancing was
rewarding, it showed us that hard work indeed pays off.
Tracy says for my Senior Class: “The past several years have been
memorable. You all have been awesome and I couldn’t have asked for
a better class. In three more months, we will be graduating and off
to better things. So I say to you, we must have confidence in our
ability to make good choices, to overcome obstacles, to learn from
our mistakes, to change the world. We must follow our dreams,
wherever they may lead us. I will always remember my classmates and
friends. You all will always be in my heart.”

Lady Eagles
Basketball On Monday, February 15, 2010
was the first time in 8 long years for the Lady Eagles to make it to
the playoffs. The Lady Eagles put a lot of hard work and
determination to get where they were. At the beginning of the
season the teams goal was to make it to the playoffs. One thing
they promised each other as a team and their coach was to never give
up on each other no matter what kind of pressure they were under.
They played Falls City in Tilden and lost 66-26.
